Enter the API key from your server (FORDPASS_API_KEY in .env). It stays on this phone.
Connect your Ford account
Use a desktop or laptop browser for the Ford page (a phone can’t show the developer tools). Ideally sign in with a second Ford account invited as a driver on the car.
- Get the login link and open it on your computer.
- Before signing in, open the developer tools (F12, Ctrl+Shift+I or Cmd+Option+I) and pick the Network tab.
- Sign in with your FordPass email and password. The page keeps spinning. That’s expected.
- In the Network tab, the last request (often red) starts with
?code=. Right-click it → Copy → Copy URL. It looks likefordapp://userauthorized/?code=eyJraWQiOi… - Paste the whole URL here right away (the code expires quickly).
